One thing we noticed with both Patrick and Caley is that the day before they started making their cocoon, they stopped eating. The day of spinning, they were smaller and more shriveled, as well as looking more yellow. Take a look!
Patrick is nestled inside his cocoon, so the next time we see him he will be a moth! You can see Caley in the picture, too. Her eating slowed down dramatically yesterday, so she may be preparing to spin her cocoon today.
We were so excited to have the silkworms join us in our home on the last day of school, and have been carefully caring for them since. We gave them each names, and figured out one...the bigger one...is probably a female.
